Project Pads Tulum
Be Aware and Care works to provide menstrual pads in coordination with the Club Rotavia de Tulum.
The Challenge
Girls in rural and impoverished communities often go without adequate menstrual supplies. This is equally true for Mayan girls in Mexico. Of the 23 million Latin American young women, 64% are affected by poverty.
The Solution
Be Aware and Care delivers our work through a positive development model. We support local teachers to provide menstrual health education and distribute long-lasting, washable pads.
A local led and empowered approach to address menstrual health issues include improved access to menstrual products and preventative health screenings and education.
